They Say It's My Birthday!!!

So, today is my birthday.  I've had a lot of them, so it's nothing new.  However, what is new is my new/old books The Bard foraged for yesterday in the "big city" at my favorite rare/used book store.  I have a couple of interesting religious books, including a hardcover book of the psalms.  This might seem odd to some of you, but for those who know of my love for hoodoo, it won't seem unusual at all.

On the agenda today is a trip to get the weekly supplies, during which we will go to the "bin store" which is an awesome place where things are bought in bulk.  In this place they have lots of loose herbs, some really good ones :) and they have really nice small glass herb containers for 59 cents. Yep. You heard me correctly (or heard me right as they say around here.) Yes, I am a grammar snob - eight years of Catholic school so there you have it.  Anyway, the last time I visited this store,  they had bergamot essential oil and I am hoping hoping hoping that they still have it because it has suddenly become the ingredient I need in spellwork - the one that I do not currently have.

Ok, then there's the regular old food shopping *snore* chore, but I am being treated to homemade chicken curry tonight so I am not complaining.

Yesterday I spent most of the day in my magic room (which isn't a bad thing really)The update on the magical work is that it is done.  At least for now. The candles have all burned down, the healing candle burned very quickly (and I'm delighted by this, )the business one burned very brightly and so I'm happy about that.  The employment one burned the slowest and the flame was not so bright, so I'm thinking that this job search may take some time and another candle may need to be burned.
Then I did a tarot reading for one of my long-time blog followers (you know who you are!)  and really enjoyed using my old friend, Rider. I have many decks, but each time I do a reading, one seems to volunteer itself, or in some cases, demands to be chosen.  My old friend, is really old.  This version came with it's own box, a very heavy cardboard box that slides open to reveal the cards.  Awesome.  It is one of my most treasured decks. I just loved using it again.

Anyway, today the spring sounds are in the air.  Birds are singing their songs and the sun is shining.  And...and I have an awesome horoscope today!!
